Galataport Istanbul
Galataport Istanbul reattributes 1.2 kilometers of the Bosphorus waterfront to the city with a unique mixed-use development blending a cruise terminal, retail, gastronomy, cultural spaces, offices, and a luxury hotel into one vibrant waterfront district. The world’s first underground cruise terminal, inspired by Istanbul’s ancient cisterns, keeps the city’s coastline open to the public, except for the areas with docked ship. Spanning 29,000 square meters, the terminal can accommodate three ships and 15,000 passengers daily.
Retail and dining are central to the redevelopment with 230 stores and dining spots across 52,000 square meters, offering a “neighborhood atmosphere” with diverse experiences. Cultural spaces include the Clock Tower Square for events, plus the Istanbul Modern and the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum. Office spaces are included and designed to maximize natural light and open layouts. Easily accessible with multiple transportation options, the project has become a major cultural hub, hosting festivals, sports events, and public gatherings. It serves as a living and social space for all visitors while ensuring safety and security.
