(Re)Euston – Towards Concrete Reuse at Scale
It is widely acknowledged that the linear ‘take-make-use-dispose’ mode of production, which is dominant today in the built environment, is unsustainable. Through a multi-disciplinary collaborative effort of industry leaders, they have tasked themselves with exploring new and innovative methods of construction that can begin to close the gap between production and disposal. Through their research, they have a prototype proposal to harvest “panels” of reinforced concrete from an existing floorplate and the potential for repurposing them as new “precast” planks.
