Empowering People (KONE)
Globally, KONE demonstrates a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as part of its business and HR strategy at all levels from global, national and the local level. With an organization that holds 60,000 + employees across the globe, a key objective of this commitment is to see a pivotal 35 percent of director-level positions held by women in the company by 2030. A second focus is the strategic hiring of women technicians in a male-dominated field. KONE has proudly implemented SPARK, a Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG), with the purpose of creating a platform for women and their allies to foster connections, support one another, engage in constructive dialogue, and promote growth opportunities and equal work environments. Other global initiatives the company has undertaken is to raise awareness and foster inclusivity and gender diversity within their workforce. One example is an ERG that has been supported with the hashtag, #FromKONEwithpride, and created with the mission to ensure that everyone deserves respect regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
