In-situ monitoring of hybrid pile/raft foundation system
EDGE London Bridge is a pioneering 27-story office tower adjacent to London Bridge Station. Coupled with a four-story basement and utilizing a top-down construction methodology, a performance-based hybrid pile/raft foundation was designed to support the structure in the temporary and permanent cases. Fiber optic sensors were cast into the piles and raft to provide real-time monitoring of the relative load share to allow further optimization of future hybrid foundation systems.
