2016 Main JuryThe Main Jury is responsible for selecting the four regional Best Tall Building winners (and from those, ultimately the overall Worldwide winner), and the Urban Habitat award winner. The seven-member jury is multidisciplinary (architect, urban planner, building developer/occupier, socio-economist, etc.) and represents a diverse geographic spread. The CTBUH Board of Trustees selects the Main Jury Chair and the Technical Jury Chair, each serving two-year terms that offset each other. The Technical Jury Chair is also a member of the main jury, representing the technical perspective.
2016 Technical JuryThe Technical Jury is responsible for selecting the Innovation Award and the Performance Award winners. They also provide technical insight on regional Best Tall Building Award Finalists, to assist the Main Jury in choosing the regional winners. The engineering disciplines are broadly represented in the Technical Jury and may include: structural engineering, MEP engineering, environmental engineering, façade engineering, etc.
Note: The CTBUH Board of Trustees is responsible for selecting both Lifetime Achievement winners, the 10 Year Award winner, and any CTBUH Fellows for that year. The Trustees are also responsible for designating a “Global Icon” winner, which may or may not be at the Main Jury’s suggestion (Global Icon winners are rare – only one has been issued to date: the Burj Khalifa in 2010).
