Employee Resource Groups Support Belonging

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) foster meaningful connections across Turner Construction, strengthening the culture of inclusion, supporting diversity, and ensuring every employee has a place where they feel valued and are heard. Through ERGs, people find mentorship, advocacy, and a shared sense of belonging that contributes to their success and well-being.
The construction industry needs more workers to meet growing demands. Yet, we face a critical challenge: a limited pipeline of workers entering the field and a growing number of retirements. To meet this challenge, Turner is thinking differently about how they attract and retain talent. ERGs strengthen an active caring culture by ensuring that every employee can be their authentic selves and play a crucial role in fostering a workplace environment that prioritizes belonging, professional growth, and business impact.

What sets Turner’s Employee Resource Groups apart is the breadth and depth of the ERG network. An impressive 163 local ERG chapters in seven national networks have been established with a range of groups that represent diverse backgrounds, identities, and interests. Turner’s 13,000 employees can see themselves reflected in one or more of these ERGs. Whether centered around cultural heritage, gender identity, professional development, or allyship, the groups empower individuals and drive meaningful impact within the organization and the communities they serve.
